Paul Abramson, MD

Dr. Abramson is Board Certified in Family Medicine, Certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and completed a Residential Senior Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at Dr Andrew Weil’s Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. Dr. Abramson is a member of the clinical faculty at UCSF, and on the medical staff at California Pacific Medical Center where he maintains full admitting privileges. He has also served as Chair of the Department of Medicine at Mendocino Coast District Hospital. He has augmented his skills with additional training in nutritional biochemistry, evolutionary and Paleo dietary approaches, osteopathic manual medicine, and medical hypnosis, and has a special interest and advanced training in travel medicine, hospital medicine, and house calls. Chad Roghair, MD

Dr. Roghair is a Fellowship Trained Sports Medicine Specialist under the American Board of Family Medicine. A member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, and the California Medical Association, Dr. Roghair is also trained in musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound and is a Credentialed ImPACT Consultant for the management of concussions. Dr. Roghair was awarded the Sutter Medical Network “Patient’s Choice Award” as the top rated physician specialist in patient satisfaction for 2013. Ken A. Honsik, MD

Dr. Ken A. Honsik is a Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Sports Medicine Specialist. He has served as a team/event physician to professional, college, high school, masters, and youth athletes for the past 20 years and is currently a head team physician for St. Mary’s College and is a team physician for UC Berkeley. Dr. Honsik has been providing consultations, education, and elite level regenerative/biologic services at The Cal Sports Orthopedic Institute. His regenerative services/treatments include PRP (platelet rich plasma), Amnionic Tissue (AmnioFix), and STEM cell therapies for the treatment of muscle, tendon, ligament, cartilage, and bone. He is a master level instructor for sports and musculoskeletal medicine. He has been educating and training physicians at all levels of experience since 2000. His titles have included: Assistant Fellowship Director of the Kaiser Permanente Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, Associate Professor/Faculty for UC Davis residency training program, and most recently with UC Davis/Valley Consortium for Medical Education where he has been on faculty as the Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Curriculum Director/Coordinator as well as faculty for the orthopedic residency program. Currently Dr. Honsik is on staff as a team physician for St. Mary’s College. Prior to joining the California Sports and Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Honsik has served as the team physician for California State University Stanislaus, University of La Verne, Pomona-Pitzer College, and Pitman High School. Dr. Honsik attended DePauw University and University of Illinois for his undergraduate degrees and graduated with honors from Rush Medical College in Chicago.

Ronna Parsa, DO

Ronna S. Parsa, DO is a fellow-trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine at her surgical practice, Parsa Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Institute, in Manhattan Beach, California. Dr. Parsa, a Southern California native, received her fellowship training under Dr. James Andrews, a world-renowned surgeon for sports injuries. She has been a lifelong athlete and bases her treatment philosophy on her many personal experiences around the world, as both an athlete and a community service volunteer. Dr. Parsa values education and research, staying on top of both through her international presentations and lectures. She has also published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, and she has traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to further her experience in breakthrough stem cell research with Dr. Khay-Yong Saw at Kuala Lumpur Sports Medicine Centre. Michael Banffy, MD

Dr. Banffy attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his general surgery internship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program, which included training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Banffy is a certified member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a Certificate of Additional Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Banffy is an active researcher and has published several scientific papers and book chapters. He is a team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams, and an orthopedic consultant to the Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Lakers. Dr. Banffy has also been a consultant for a variety of other professional athletics including USA Beach Volleyball, the PGA tour, and the X Games.

Dr. Timothy T. Davis, MD

Interventional pain management specialist Timothy T. Davis, MD, brings over 20 years of experience in physical medicine, sports medicine, and pain management to Source Healthcare in Santa Monica, California, where he serves patients from throughout Los Angeles County. Dr. Davis is board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain medicine, and neurophysiological monitoring. Dr. Davis began his professional education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, completing his bachelor's and medical degree simultaneously to graduate in just six years. After earning his degrees, Dr. Davis completed a general surgery internship at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson, Louisiana. He then moved to California for his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, serving at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. After his residency, Dr. Davis continued his postgraduate training at the Spine Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica. As a principal investigator for various FDA trials, Dr. Davis conducted some of the earliest research on the effects of stem cells on the lumbar disc. Michael Fitzpatrick, MD

Michael J. Fitzpatrick M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon practicing at Mission Hospital since 2005. Dr. Fitzpatrick has focused his practice in investigating, diagnosing and treating sports injury. He has special research interests in minimally invasive shoulder replacements and arthroscopic surgery. Current Dr. Fitzpatrick serves at Co-Director of Mission Hospital Orthopedic Institute and President of South Orange County Orthopedics. Since completion of his fellowship, he has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, Irvine and Research Faculty with the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in Long Beach, California. Dr. Fitzpatrick is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and has received an additional Board Certification in Sports Medicine. Moises Irizarry-Roman, MD

As one of South Florida’s leading sports medicine physicians, Moisés Irizarry-Román, MD, is an expert at diagnosing and treating the most complex types of sports and musculoskeletal injuries. To help athletes and active patients get the unique, comprehensive care they need, Dr. Irizarry-Román founded No Mercy Sports Medicine in Miami. Dr. Irizarry-Román earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe, School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Afterward, he completed an internship at San Juan City Hospital, followed by a residency at the Hospital Universitario Dr. Ramon Ruiz Arnau, before relocating to the United States. John J. Klimkiewicz, MD

John J. Klimkiewicz MD is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Joint Replacements. He concentrates in all aspects of knee and shoulder surgery. An emphasis on joint preservation as it pertains to the knee is one of his main interests’. After completing his Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Pennsylvania, he went on to complete a shoulder and Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, in 1998. Matthew Otten, DO

Dr. Otten is Board Certified in Sports medicine. After completing cardiology research with Harvard University and UCSF, Dr. Otten obtained his medical degree from Michigan State University. He has become a leader in the field of Orthobiologics since completing his sports medicine fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and currently resides in Las Vegas where he is a practicing regenerative therapy physician with CELLAXYS. Thomas Youm, MD

Thomas Nabity, MD

Dr. Nabity is a Board Certified PM&R specialist with subspecialty Board Certification in Interventional Pain Management and Diagnostic MSK Ultrasound. Laith Farjo, MD

Dr. Farjo received his medical degree from University of Michigan. In addition to being Chief Medical Officer of Forever Labs, Dr. Farjo is one of the most experienced surgeons in the field of hip arthroscopy, having performed this surgery routinely for more than 15 years. He wrote one of the seminal research articles of labral tears in the hip, which is frequently quoted in the orthopedic literature. His skills in repairing hip labral tears, treating femoroacetabular impingement, minimally invasive surgery for trochanteric bursitis, as well as novel techniques for gluteus medius repair have been sought out by patients from all over the world. Michael Putney, MD

Michael Putney, MD, is a fellow-trained orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas. Dr. Putney specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Erick Grana

Dr. Grana is a physiatrist and pain management specialist with extensive clinical experience. After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D.) and completing a residence program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Grana completed a fellowship training at the university of Washington. Dr. James Altizer

Dr. James Altizer graduated from Davidson College in 1981 and immediately entered the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After receiving his MD degree in 1985, he traveled to Augusta, GA to complete a 3 year internship and residency in Internal Medicine. To pay back his naval scholarship to medical school Dr. Altizer entered the US Navy and worked as an Internist at the Navy hospital in Beaufort, SC and subsequently as teaching faculty at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA. He also served in the first Gulf War during Desert Storm and received a total of 5 decorations prior to leaving the US Navy in 1992. Dr. Altizer spent 11 years as a board-certified Internist. During his 17 years as a Phlebologist (vein disease specialist) he became Board Certified in Phlebology. He is also doubly credentialed in ultrasound. Being skilled at surgical and injection techniques from his work with vein disease, Dr. Altizer quickly learned stem cell harvesting techniques and in late 2015 decided to dedicate the remainder of his career to stem cell and regenerative therapies. He received expert training from recognized leaders in the regenerative medicine field, training on bone marrow aspiration with Duke University affiliated physicians. In 2017, he was asked to be guest faculty at The Orthobiologics Institute (TOBI) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas where he taught the liposuction workshop for adipose tissue harvesting. Since he started treating patients with stem cell therapy at his old practice in January of 2016, he has performed thousands of regenerative medicine injections, making him by far the most experienced and well known medical doctor performing stem cell and regenerative therapies in the Carolinas.
